Fast Food Fantasy HDR

Fast Food Fantasy HDR

This is the food court in the Canal Walk mall at Century City in Cape Town.

This photo was taken several years ago, at the same time as this one. They were both shot in JPEG on a 3 megapixel point and shoot. There is a lot of dynamic range in that scene so having made quite a few HDR images from a single RAW, I decided to see what was possible from a single JPEG. I am quite happy with the result.

Photographed at the 2005 TFDC air show and processed using an HDR technique to bring out the detail in both dark and light areas.

I’ve been going through my older photos looking for ones that make good candidates for enhancing using HDR techniques. This is one of the ones that gave a particularly good result.

Screwdrivers

Screwdrivers

Inspired by a tutorial from a magazine, I made this image using only my computer. I took the photograph of the screwdriver with my scanner and did everything else in Photoshop.

The Beauty of Grey

The Beauty of Grey

This is not a black and white world
To be alive
I say that the colours must swirl
And I believe
That maybe today
We will all get to appreciate

The Beauty of Grey
