Mixed Messages
Considering that You and Huisgenoot are little more than English and Afrikaans versions of the same magazine, it is odd that the latest issues have similar headlines, differing in one way, proclaiming that SMS (Huisgenoot) or MXit (You) destroyed someone’s marriage. Is MXit really just the same thing as SMS? If so then why are we seeing reports of MXit, but not SMS, being used for nefarious purposes. Why not lay the blame at the feet of SMS too?
Double Rainbow
I snapped this beautiful double rainbow from the balcony at work earlier this evening. I see that Wayne got a shot of it too.

Tidal Pool
This is the tidal pool on Strand beach. Don’t be fooled by the bright light and blue sky, we’re moving into winter here and it was only 11 or 12°C with a chilly wind when I took this yesterday. The sky behind me was quite grey as there was a front moving in; it started raining just a few minutes after I took this shot.
New Green Point Stadium
A friend just mailed me this artists impression of the new stadium being built at Green Point for the World Cup. He says, “It’s interesting how the architect captured the essence of the endeavor.”

The face transformer is a fun little Java applet that you can use to get an idea what you might look like at a different age, as a different racial type, an artwork, a manga character or even an ape. Apparently this is what I would look like as a Modigliani painting.
